Bleeding gums are a sign of gum disease that should be checked by your dentist. If caught and treated early it is reversible with v little permanent damage. If however left untreated it can easily progress to advanced gum disease and more teeth are lost to gum disease than tooth decay.There is growing evidence linking gum disease to heart attacks, strokes and also type 2 diabetes. Gum disease is made worse in smokers or people with a family history of gum problems.
