Here at the Coventry Centre for Advanced Dentistry we provide a pain-free cosmetic contouring treatment option that needs no drills–just the other day we saw a patient who had overly long front teeth which she disliked. A picture says a thousand words

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Here at the practice we routinely use intra oral cameras at routine check ups. This allows us to show the patient areas of concern in their own mouth.

In this way the patient can see on a screen exactly what we see and so together we can plan the ideal way to treat the problem.

If you believe that there are problems in your mouth or you can feel holes or chipped teeth then please come and see us and at your complimentary consultation we will use our intra oral camera to show you the area on a flat screen TV. In this way you will see once and for all what the actual problems in your mouth are and together we can discuss the options and formulate a treatment plan that solves the problem.

For a complimentary consultation please contact the practice.

Tooth Knocked Out

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

It is distressing when a tooth is lost through dental disease or an accident but even more so when due to an assault.

We recently saw a patient who had some teeth knocked out during an attack.

We have carefully and quickly made some temporary teeth and eventually the patient will have two dental implants to restore his previous function and appearance.

If a tooth is knocked out it is sometimes possible to put the same tooth back but ideally you should see your dentist within one hour of the accident or assault.

If a tooth is permanenetly lost dental implants will usually re-create your smile on a permanent basis.

Here at the Coventry Centre for Advanced Dentistry we deal with the aftermath of a number of such incidents and if you need any help please call us for a  free consultation on 024 76454350.

Wedding Smiles…….

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

With the wedding season almost upon us we are starting to see the usual rush of soon to be Brides and Grooms wanting beautiful smiles for the big day.

We treat a lot of patients who want cosmetic dentistry from simple tooth whitening to invisable high speed braces to porcelain veneers – we also use a technique called composite resin bonding.  This is a simple procedure involving no drilling or injections and takes approx. 1 hour to treat chipped or worn teeth.  This procedure was carried out by us for the ‘Runaway Bride’ competition winner of the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

If you are getting married or are attending a special wedding and would like to improve your smile for your special day and look your best for the wedding photographs then please call us immediately for a free consultation with Dr Jag Shergill himself on 024 76454350.

Porcelain Veneers for a Wedding Smile!

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Porcelain veneers are an excellent way to give you a beautiful smile.  Although not always necessary, when needed can provide an excellent way of treating chipped, cracked, uneven or damaged teeth.  In principle, veneers are thin layers of beautiful hand-crafted porcelain, strongly bonded over your own teeth to give you a Hollywood smile.

Today we saw a patient who had veneers placed at her own general dentist.  These veneers had chipped and the appearance was not ideal.  The patient had come to see us for a complimentary consultation regarding replacing the veneers before her forthcoming wedding.

After listening to the patient and her needs we carried out an examination.  We then discussed various options and the most appropriate was to place new hard-wearing, durable, cosmetic veneers that the patient would be delighted with.  We discussed the procedure, pros and cons.  We also, in conjunction with the patient, confirmed that we could comfortably replace her veneers to her requirements easily within the timescale for her wedding.

Various payment options were discussed including interest free credit to allow the treatment to be within her budget.

We regularly see patients who are unhappy with the appearance or condition of their own teeth or previous dental treatment.  We offer complimentary consultations where we listen to patients concerns and give them various options that are within their timescales and budget.

Any patients that feel this would be a helpful service to them is most welcome to contact our practice for a complimentary relaxed but informative consultation with Dr Shergill himself.
