A gentleman came into the surgery today looking for a solution to a very common problem. Having had orthodontics (braces) as a child he could now see that the teeth had started to revert back to their original position. After chatting to the dentist he admitted that he had not wore a retainer to help keep the new position.
The Dentist discussed six month smiles with the patient, these braces are worn behind the teeth so cannot be seen and in many cases the teeth can be straight by the next check up – in 6 months!!
After treatment the Dentist will place a fixed retainer at the back of the teeth to keep the new position.
The patient is starting treatment in a few days and is very excited.

Cosmetic surgery is on the increase greatly especially in men according a statement from the leading Harley medical group today This was debated on a live phone-in this morning on BBC Radio 5 Live.

The appearence of peoples smiles has been discussed in the media several times over the last few weeks.

One of our regular patients is thinking about having orthodontic treatment for her uneven upper teeth.
She had noticed that the two front teeth were crossing over far more severely than they used to. This does happen quite often, what was a mild discrepancy years ago becomes more severe as time goes on.
