6 month smiles in the media

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Yesterday, the Coventry Centre for Advanced Dentistry had a whole page in the coventry evening telegraph newspaper explaining the 6 month smiles philosophy. Patients who want straight teeth quickly and discreetly without the need for unsightly metal wires can now come to the practice for a free consultation and see how 6 month smiles may help them get straight white teeth on average in 6 months or so.

All initial consultations are free and at the end of treatment Dr Jag Shergill and his team will whiten the teeth for free! Further info can be found on the practice website or at our affiliated site   www.coventrybraces.co.uk

Hygienists – to help prevent bleeding gums and gum disease

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Bleeding gums are evidence that gum disease is present in the mouth.

If caught early enough this is called gingivitis and is reversible by regular visits to our Hygienists and good dental hygiene. However, left unchecked this usually progresses to more advanced gum disease which damages the bone supporting the teeth. Although this is irreversible it can be stabilised by seeing our Hygienists and following their advice.

Gum disease is the most common cause for teeth to be lost and there is a lot of evidence linking it with chronic heart disease, strokes and premature and low birth weight babies.

People often ignore bleeding gums however if your eyes bled every day you touched them you would seek urgent help! If your gums bleed the surface area can be equivalent to a post-it note and if this size area bled on your skin every day again you would seek urgent attention. Bleeding gums are a warning of gum disease and you should seek the help of a Dentist and their Hygienists.

Here at Coventry Centre for Adavanced Dentistry we are experiencing this condition and have two highly regarded Dental Hygienists (Lorraine and Susie) who can help you.

Please feel free to call 024 76454350 for a free consultation with a Dentist.
